The role

Who is Palermo House?

At Palermo House, our mission is to create unique products for the home that help unwind everyday life and cultivate leisure. Our best-selling indoor and outdoor Dume Lounge Chair has quickly become a staple in homes all over the country, marrying the comfort of a bean bag chair with the chic style of a beloved vintage piece. Alongside Dume, we make modular sofas (Modo) and floor mats (Matuka), and we’re building out a full lounge collection across price points.

We’re a small, fast-growing direct-to-consumer (DTC) brand based in Los Angeles. We manufacture with overseas partners, and we’ve been featured in Architectural Digest, Cosmopolitan, and HGTV.

About the Role

Video is the engine of our paid social. We test new creative constantly, and the speed and quality of our edits directly shape how fast we learn and grow. We’re looking for a sharp, fast editor to turn raw footage, creator content, and ideas from our creative team into ads that stop the scroll and sell furniture.

This is a part-time, hands-on role at about 20 hours per week, for an editor who loves short-form video, understands why some ads work and others don’t, and wants to be part of a small team where their work is seen, tested, and acted on quickly.

What You’ll Do

  • Performance ads: Edit short-form video for Meta and other paid platforms, including product ads, UGC-style creative, and campaign cutdowns.
  • Hooks and iteration: Build multiple hooks, cutdowns, and messaging variations off the same footage so we can test quickly, then recut based on what the numbers tell us.
  • UGC and creator content: Turn creator and customer footage into polished, native-feeling content that still looks and feels like Palermo House.
  • Organic social: Repurpose existing footage into Reels, TikToks, and Shorts, finding the strongest moments and shaping them for each platform.
  • Finishing and delivery: Handle pacing, music, captions, simple motion graphics, basic color, and resizing across every placement and aspect ratio.
  • Organization: Keep footage, project files, and exports clean and easy for the rest of the team to find.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional video editing experience, in-house, at an agency, or as a freelancer.
  • A portfolio that shows short-form paid social or social-first work.
  • Strong proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar, with working knowledge of After Effects or comparable motion tools.
  • A strong feel for hooks, pacing, sound, and storytelling in the first three seconds.
  • The ability to take feedback and turn around polished edits quickly, and to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Availability for about 20 hours per week, with fast turnaround on time-sensitive edits.
  • Experience with DTC, e-commerce, or home and lifestyle brands is a plus.
  • Experience iterating creative based on performance data is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted editing and content tools is a plus.

Why This Role

You’ll work directly with the founder and our creative and growth team, and your edits will go live fast. This is a chance to shape the look of a growing furniture brand and see exactly how your work performs. If you love making video that works and want to help build a brand people love, we’d love to hear from you.
