Role Description

The Video Editor Intern role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Colombo District. In this role, the intern will assist in editing and assembling video content for digital campaigns, social media, and advertising projects, following creative briefs and brand guidelines. Daily tasks include organizing raw footage, trimming and sequencing clips, adding basic transitions, text, and sound, and exporting files in required formats. The intern will collaborate with the creative and digital marketing teams to adapt content for different platforms and ensure it meets quality and deadline expectations. The position offers hands-on learning in professional editing workflows, exposure to client projects, and feedback from experienced team members.

Qualifications

• Foundational video editing skills using common software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools).
• Basic understanding of motion graphics, audio editing, and visual storytelling for digital and social media content.
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow creative direction and maintain brand consistency.
• Interest in digital marketing, advertising, and social media trends, especially short-form and viral content.
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, on-site team environment.
• Ability to manage time effectively, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ongoing studies or recent completion of a program in Multimedia, Film, Design, Communication, or a related field is an advantage.
• Portfolio or sample work demonstrating video editing or related creative projects is highly beneficial.
